In May of 1997, the VOLPE Center, recognizing the potential for SOCRATES™ technology, provided an R&D contract worth up to $8.0M of FAA- and NASA-sponsored funding.
Discussions are currently under way between Flight Safety Technologies and the VOLPE Center regarding another $4.5M in NASA funding and the Center's continuing role of assisting Flight Safety Technologies with program administration, monitoring and test facilities.
