Many of Flight Safety Technologies' management, staff, strategic partners, contractors and consultants have worked closely with, and in some cases directly for, the U.S. Navy.  As a result, the company retains a keen interest in developing and applying technologies both for and with the U.S. Navy.

Unmanned Surface Vehicles
The Navy is developing Unmanned Surface Vehicles which have the potential to aid the fleet in littoral warfare, fulfilling mine detection, surveillance and reconnaissance, port protection, and other dangerous and difficult missions.  A fleet of USVs, operating autonomously, must have the ability to avoid collisions with each other and with other obstacles.  A version of UNICORN™ has been conceived by engineers at Flight Safety Technologies that could provide that capability.  This is a product that Flight Safety Technologies may consider developing in the future.

Advanced Sensors
Throughout their careers, Fight Safety Technologies' personnel have developed systems and algorithms using linear and nonlinear sonar to detect and track threats in a marine environment.  Potential applications include mine detection, anti-submarine warfare, and detection and classification of unexploded ordnance.

Hydrodynamics
Several members of the company’s engineering staff have significant expertise and experience in the field of hydrodynamics.  The staff continues to support the Navy community with expert evaluation of the hydrodynamic performance of advanced surface ships.
