Since its inception, our company has strived to leverage technologies developed by the DoD and to apply them to the enhancement of flight safety. For example, the field of opto-acoustics, which partly underlies our SOCRATES™ technology, was originally developed under sponsorship by the U.S. Navy and DARPA. Members of Flight Safety Technologies management and staff, as well as many of our strategic partners, contractors and consultants, participated in the DoD's cold-war era efforts to develop ultra-sensitive opto-acoustic sensors for anti-submarine warfare. Many of the theoretical underpinnings of that technology survived the end of the cold war, and are now being applied to development of the SOCRATES™ sensor.
